this number keeps sending me texts. i get charged 3.75 each time. I have checked my phone bill from ee and they have it listed as smmtuv, i have no idea who these are

A very angry person
It must be a scam
I have been charged three times already. EE says that it's a company called txtnation that is making the charges. Txtnation customer service says that they cannot find anything to do with my number. Is it a scam and what can one do about it? Neither EE or txtnation want to help.

I have an answer but perhaps not a solution
The people texting you unwanted texts at £4.50 a go are TXTNATION. their phone numbers are: 0208 820 5234 and 0203 283 8828. They are located 10th floor, The Tower Building, 11 York Road London SE1 7MX.
June 20th 2015 11:44
Are you charged just for receiving the text or only when the text is opened?
June 15th 2015 12:24
I have an update. The best way is to call PPP (PhonePayPlus) who are regulators. Their number is 0800 500 212. They are very helpful and will sort out the problem for you.

I am on pay as you go and could not understand why my credit was decreasing at an alarming rate. Just telephoned EE and they said it was this number and there is nothing they can do.

Just received my bill from Virgin Mobile and found 4 strange numbers purprting to have text me from 700046067 - total cost in 2 days £18.00. Complained to Virgin who infom me that the texts come from a company called Xinion Ltd, based at 10 Priory Avenue, Northwich CW9 8UA. Telephone: 0333 202 7721. They also told me to reply to the text messages with 'STOP ALL'. However as I've never received the text messages this has been impossible. The 700046067 number is a one way transmission so you cannot reply. Phone Pay Plus are now investigating.

July 20th 2015 18:26
Phone their scam/help line on 03332027722...
....and tell them to get a life and stop texting you. On my bill there was an initial 10p charge, followed immediately by a £4.50 charge which repeated same time every week.

My phone bill it includes £33.20 text received from 700046067 & 700046109. Did further investigation online and to my surprise, this has happened to so many.Obviously, this must be a scammed from an organisation hiding behind loophole legal stand.

Just queried my first bill from BT mobile which had 3 charges each for £4:50. Was recommended by them to contact Phonepayplus but their system simply says they have no info on 700046067. I cant stop this number as I am not receiving any texts to reply stop to! The charge just turns up on my bill. Steven, a really helpful guy at BT says a number change may be the only way out of this. And BT will refund me the calls. Alternatively, the Virgin Mobile website says text 700046067 to 7726 (free) and wait for instructions. I'm waiting! Otherwise it the inconvenience of a number change.

I normally do not check my mobile bills. Not sure what made me check this month and noticed that my bills for the last three months had shot sky high. It started with first call @ 0.10p, thereafter @ £4.50. Checking my Virgin Mobile bill, these charges are made against Premium Text messages from 700046067 number. After further investigation, I discovered that I have been receiving text messages from 82288. Today I sent a text message "STOP ALL" back to 82288, and received following message: FreeMsg: Thank you, we have received to stop your request to stop all text services. I hope this is the last time I get billed @ £4.50 for each message received.

I have been charged also but don't remember signing up for any competitions and if i did, certainly wouldn't have agreed to pay £3.75 every week. I telephoned 0333 202 7722 and spoke to a girl who tells me they are regulated and do send texts every week stating the amount being charged. I have never received these texts. She took my number off her system and offered to refund me £18. Apparently a text comes from the Post Office and i take the text to the post office and they give me £18 in cash. This seems unlikely as i'm unsure what the post office have to do with it but we shall see. Definitely telephone this number though as they will delete you from their system.

outrageous and furious
thankfully i looked at my bill and saw the charges. they claimed i signed up for a lottery text , which I never had. I told them to stop all texts and she assured me they have taken my number off their system and would not be charged any further. we will see if this is the true. unbelievable that companies are allowed to get away with this! I am out the the £ 3.75 however, not happy about it and going to try and get a refund from EE but doubtful.

upset and helpless
they charge me £3.75 (+VAT) every Saturday at 13.00 since March 2014. I can't stop them. I never booked any service from this number. Who could help me?

Tried calling Phone Pay Plus but number not in use
Called Xinion Ltd and asked them to remove my mobile number from their competition database. They have told they had and it's now a matter of waiting to see if I receive by more text. Otherwise I will be contacting them again and writing to their CEO.

My mother has had a nightmare
I pay my mum's bills and i've only just actually had detailed look into them. I get 50% off with work so i've never really noticed that it's gone up by about £10-13 a month as i assume it's just extra costs from data / picture messages. I checked last months bill and these guys charge £4.50 every damn week and have been since November 2015!! that's about £135 i've given them, well more like 60 odd with the discount. I've now called and opted out but they are a very clever system.. woman on the phone was nice enough but they might as well be after getting so much free money off us all

I received a text telling me I had won something from Tesco! Answer these questions, in doing so I found I had joined MGS FOR £4.50 per week. With the instruction to text STOP TO 68899 or ring help 012088205234 needless to say this does not work. Beware,
